Purpose-built for dogs. Treat tosser works with most standard-size training treats. Two-way audio. Bark alerts through the Dog Nanny subscription. The category leader for a reason, this is the default pick if you want a treat dispenser.
See FurboPetcube Bites 2
Treat-tossing pet camera with adjustable fling distance. Wider 160-degree lens than Furbo. App is cleaner. See our full Furbo vs Petcube comparison for the details.
See Petcube Bites 2PetSafe Smart Feed Interactive Pet Camera
Lower price point than Furbo or Petcube. Less polished app, less reliable tosser, but functional for pet parents who want the concept without the premium price. Treat size compatibility is narrower.
Pawbo Crunchy
Pet camera with a snack dispenser, 720p resolution, two-way audio. Lower image quality than Furbo or Petcube but functional. Best fit if you want minimum-viable at the lowest price.
What to Actually Look For
- Treat size compatibility. Match the dispenser to the treats your dog already likes.
- App quality. You'll open this app a lot. A bad app ruins the experience.
- Lens width. Wider (140 degrees+) shows more of the room.
- Subscription vs one-time. Most require a subscription for bark alerts, video history, or behavior monitoring.
A dog camera with a treat dispenser only matters if your dog actually takes the treat. Test-fire it with your dog in the house first.
Is the Treat Dispenser Actually Useful?
It depends on why you bought the camera. For positive-reinforcement during departures (treat the dog when they settle calmly after you leave), very useful. For live interaction throughout the day, somewhat useful. For watching a dog while you're at work, mostly a novelty. Most pet parents use the treat toss 2 to 5 times a day for the first month, then less.
Separation anxiety?
A treat-toss camera is a monitoring tool, not a fix. For actual separation anxiety, Doggy Dan or a qualified behaviorist is the path.
